10WR - How it works :

On each page you will find an image containing riddles, cryptic puzzles, questions, codes and cyphers. If you begin in the right place(s), you will find that keys can be found which will help you in your bid to decipher the encrypted puzzles on the page which is to be your destination.

To Begin :

Okay, many people have been cursing me for introducing them to this, and for not giving them a clue or two. So I think I will respond to the many requests, and start you off with a little taster...

Where to begin? Well, if you look at the map, you will find ten white rabbits at various starting positions. Though they may not all neccessarily need to be tackled in order, it is important that the correct one is tackled first, in order to allow you to figure things out later. So which one is first? Well, you'll notice that each rabbit is stood on a coloured square, corresponding to the colours of their waistcoat buttons & umbrella. You then will need to look through the pages until you find a clue which will tell you which of these colours belongs to the rabbit to be tackled first...and on page 39 we see just that! The rabbit wearing the "1" rosette (1st), with its red buttons & red umbrella, corresponds to page / square 7.

Page 7 : Woah! Looks nasty, eh? Well, the first thing you need to do is to rearrange the crossword so that it makes sense. To help you, the message on the left hand side offers clues. The message is written in Morse code, with 1s and 0s being dots and dashes, and Xs marking breaks. The message reads "TO ENSURE THAT THE CLUE MAY BE FOUND IN THESE PUNS REASSEMBLE THE PIECES TO HIGHLIGHT THE KEY ONES".

Several of the words in this clue (ENSURE, CLUE, PUNS) will appear as you reassemble the crossword, to let you know you're heading in the right direction (and finding the right KEY). Once you have done that, you will see a four-figure number, which will be your key to deciphering the message on the right. The figure we are shown is "3162" (reading across once the puzzle has been assembled correctly. By using this key to transpose each of the letters by - in turn - 3 places ('O' becoles 'L'), then 1 ('F' becoles 'E'), then 6 ('Z' becoles 'T'), then 2 ('V' becoles 'T'), and so on, we begin to see a message forming - "LET THE TREASURE NOW BE SHOWN YOUR CLUE IS FOUR ACROSS NOT DOWN..". The fourth word across (if this were numbered as a regular crossword) is "UP" (which is "NOT DOWN"). The clue continues "NOW TAKE YOUR PRIZE AND HOP ALONG TO SQUARE THIRTEEN YOU CANT GO WRONG".

So - you now head for square / page 13, with your clue "UP".

Page 13 : On this page you will see an encoded message, and several possible 'keys' to be used to decipher the message. You may notice the quote - "THROW YOUR SWORD FAR IN THIS DIRECTION", which could lead you to think that the key is the number associated with "FORWARDS" (anagram of "sword far"), but that 'clue' - written in red - is your first RED HERRING! The key is, of course, the number associated with your clue - "UP" : 213. Use this key to decipher the encoded message - this time running UP from the lower left hand corner.

Tired yet?

The deciphered clue reads "DROP DOWN TWO MORE LEVELS ACROSS ONE TO THE DOOR TAKE WITH YOU THE TOTAL OF SIXTEEN MORE THAN FOUR". By checking on the map, you will see that - from square 13 - by dropping down two levels, and moving "across one to the door", you will find yourself on square 61, with your clue "sixteen more than four" : twenty, or "score"...

Now, if you want any more clues, you're going to have to wait! Happy playing...

Good luck!
